Translating the client’s goals and mission successfully into a design solution is a rewarding process. Carefully designing and executing that design with a Design/Build partner doubles that reward.
GuernseyTingle is leading the design of this Design/Build team in renovating the regional technical/career education center’s Woodside campus. The original 74,000 SF building was constructed in the 1970’s, and the facility lacked the features necessary to train a modern workforce. The goals that the design team developed and refined with the owner were to:
+ Enhance and revitalize lab/classroom spaces, including the introduction of new cyber security and veterinary medicine programs.
+ Introduce technology into labs and classrooms, to enrich the learning experience.
+ Improve and update public circulation space, providing transparency into select lab spaces.
+ Develop a new commons area, to encourage interaction of students from varied career tracks and to celebrate achievements.
+ Create a new “front door” to the campus, that is sunlit, modern and supportive of the career education mission.
