The distinctive form of this 31,000 SF first phase building was designed to reflect the non-traditional character of this innovative, interdenominational congregation. The sanctuary was built as a first priority, with classrooms occupying the future balcony space. The next phase will complete the sanctuary and build new classrooms, along with additional fellowship and support spaces.

The 4,000 SF addition to the church’s freestanding fellowship hall building provided church offices, a narthex gathering space, support spaces, and nine new classrooms. The results were twofold: a functional, cost-effective educational wing expansion and redesign of the building to be more compatible with the church’s sanctuary building.

The building program determined the balance between remodeling/re-use of the present classroom wing, and a 6,200 SF addition to include a fellowship hall, kitchen, narthex connector and six classrooms. The new wing design was compatible with the existing building’s gothic revival style.
This 17,500 SF phase one building includes a 400-seat worship space, administration area, and extensive education area. The 60,000 SF master plan will be added over the next several years.
