As President, Tom is responsible for the firm's strategic focus and business performance. He manages firm growth, diversification and development; and he defines the business objectives for performance and staff development. Tom enjoys early involvement in projects, working with clients on feasibility analysis, pro forma development and master planning. He also excels in facilitating large group participation in projects, whether a church congregation or a neighborhood town meeting.

Growing up as the son of a country doctor that made house calls and kept evening office hours, Tom decided on architecture as a career rather than rural medicine. After graduating from Virginia Tech, he went on to work for other mid-size and large architectural/engineering firms in Norfolk before coming to GuernseyTingle in 1984.

Tom believes that architects can provide a great service by volunteering in the community; he is actively involved in many community and civic organizations in James City County, Hampton Roads and Virginia.

Brad joined GuernseyTingle after graduating from Ball State University and working for nine years with an architectural firm in Indianapolis. Brad's diverse experience ranges from multi-purpose buildings and custom residential projects to religious facilities. As a senior project manager and designer, he has had the opportunity to see projects from the design workshop stage all the way through construction administration and closeout.

Brad's passion is religious design. He enjoys the challenge and in his experience, people care a great deal about the design of their homes and places of worship. This passion can make for an interesting journey, but the reward at the end of the construction process when the congregation's faces light up with joy at the first service, makes it all worthwhile.
