When a resort spa was ready for rejuvenation, GuernseyTingle brought a crystal clear solution.
Kingsmill Resort, Williamsburg VA, has a long history of great service, great golf and great get-away amenities—the Spa at Kingsmill being a prime example. What began as a simple renovation of a well-established spa grew into a 4,500 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility. GuernseyTingle was actively involved in not just the interior architecture and finishes, but also the new spa’s logo design, furnishings, and the selection and installation of artwork and accessories.
The new Spa accommodates a Swarovski crystal-accented nail and hair salon, seven treatment rooms with the option of an eighth, men’s and women’s changing rooms, and quiet rooms. Entering the reception area, guests are greeted by warm wood floors, custom chandeliers, a custom stand-alone reception station, and a curved glass wall with sparkling silver grout. The softly lit carpeted corridor leads to the changing rooms accented by rock walls and glass sinks. Treatment room corridors are painted in a darker tone to soften the mood, and LED wall sconces signal entry points. Above are custom chandeliers to further enhance the mood. Two treatment rooms have showers for rinsing, one of which can accommodate handicapped guests.
The two quiet rooms provide separate men and women’s relaxation experiences but can be opened into a single space at times when a large group or a bridal party is in attendance. Off of the quiet rooms is a new, covered outdoor deck where visitors can sit in the rocking chairs enjoying a cold glass of water or wine while capturing the spectacular view of the James River to bring the experience full-circle.
The end result is a sophisticated spa, worthy of being one of the many high-end amenities offered at the Kingsmill Resort.
