Richmond Animal League

Project Overview

  • Provided initial needs assessment and feasibility study
  • Developed the master plan and schematic design drawings

As your partner, our team can provide the feasibility study, master plan, and schematic designs to see your project through from start to finish.

GuernseyTingle was retained by the Richmond Animal League in 2013 to provide a needs assessment and feasibility study after the non-profit’s Board of Directors completed a strategic plan for the organization’s mission. RAL had outgrown their existing facilities, operating out of an aging 23-year old CMU structure and an adjacent leased modular building.

After providing the needs assessment and feasibility study, GuernseyTingle was then re-engaged by RAL in 2015 to refine the program and provide schematic design services for the expanded facility.

Our needs assessment included project animal holding data and adoptions, and our site analysis reviewed existing and adjacent properties for potential acquisition and expansion. We facilitated a listening session with selected Board members, volunteers and other stakeholders for programming input, as well as conducted staff programming sessions to develop program requirements.

We also compiled budget project construction cost estimates for various planning alternatives. And finally, our team developed the master plan and schematic design drawings as well as capital campaign support materials.
