Wexford Hills Residence

Project Overview

  • Exterior includes stone cladding and shingle siding
  • Interior features a great room with timber framing
  • A first-floor master suite accommodates future needs

Timber framing and an open great room combine for a warm family home.

This 4,300 sq. ft. custom home is on a wooded hillside lot near Williamsburg and features a 2-story living space with classic timber framing. The home’s understated exterior is designed to blend with its more mid-Atlantic colonial neighbors, while also featuring stone cladding, shingle siding and trim that hint at the non-traditional interior.

The owners wanted an open, airy great room to entertain several generations of extended family, especially for weekend gatherings and family meals. A soaring stone fireplace compliments the heavy timber framing and rustic décor. The first floor master bedroom suite, study and guest suites allow aging-in place after retirement for the working couple.
