GuernseyTingle is honored to be named one of the 2020 Best Places to Work in Virginia by Virginia Business Magazine.

A small business, GuernseyTingle offers architectural design, interior design, and planning services. Headquartered in James City County, the firm has been in business for 36 years providing design services to residential clients, religious facilities, federal and state government, municipalities, private and commercial clients, restaurants, developers, and theme parks.

The firm recognizes that all firm members’ capabilities and efforts allow GuernseyTingle to prosper and exist. Employees are given the resources and tools to participate in the firm’s success by bringing work into the firm and giving his or her best to our clients. Mentoring employees to learn how to accept that responsibility is a critical investment in facilitating employee involvement and preparing for the next generation of shareholders.

This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce, and businesses. The 2020 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of 100 companies.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
