The Evolving Role of Digital Tools
The firm continues to rely on Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a cornerstone of collaboration and coordination. Advances in BIM technology continue to enhance the value of the platform, improving accuracy and integration between design and construction teams. GuernseyTingle has also experimented with virtual reality (VR) for early concept work and increasingly uses drone technology for site photography, roof assessments, and building evaluations. Drones have become a practical and reliable way to document project progress, enhance safety, and gain access to hard-to-reach areas.

Although the firm does not currently utilize these methods, it expects them to evolve in much the same way that CAD and BIM transformed architectural workflows. While many of GuernseyTingle’s current clients have not yet requested advanced tech-enabled solutions such as digital twins or smart building integrations, the firm is preparing for that shift. By building expertise now, GuernseyTingle is positioning itself to respond intelligently when client demand increases.
