GuernseyTingle Welcomes Micah Wetzler as Architectural Designer

Micah Wetzler

GuernseyTingle is excited to welcome Micah Wetzler as the firm’s newest Architectural Designer, bringing a strong foundation in design, hands-on project experience and a deep connection to the Hampton Roads community.

Born and raised in Hampton, Micah appreciates the opportunity to contribute to projects in the same region that helped shape him. His local roots, curiosity and thoughtful approach to design align naturally with GuernseyTingle’s relationship-based culture and collaborative Team Build philosophy.

Micah first joined GuernseyTingle as a college intern, spending two summers with the firm while pursuing his Bachelor of Architecture at Virginia Tech. During that time, he earned a Hampton Roads Design-Build Institute of America scholarship, recognizing his promise as an emerging design professional. He was also a Presidential Scholar at Virginia Tech, where he embraced both the academic rigor of architecture and the energy of campus life as a proud Hokie.

His education also took him beyond Blacksburg. During his fourth year, Micah studied abroad in Europe, visiting 25 cities and developing a deeper appreciation for how architecture reflects the culture, history and everyday life of the communities it serves. He later continued his studies at Virginia Tech’s Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center while interning with Project 308 Design.

For Micah, architecture is ultimately about people.

“Architecture is ultimately about people, and the best spaces are the ones that bring them together,” he said.

Outside of work, Micah enjoys staying active and feeding the competitive spirit that came naturally from growing up with four older brothers. A former baseball player through high school, he is always up for a game, whether it is pickleball, golf, cards or something new. He also enjoys working with his hands and tackling DIY projects whenever he has the chance.
