Architectural Designer

A Hampton native and Virginia Tech graduate, Micah Wetzler brings a strong sense of community, curiosity, and hands-on design experience to his role as an Architectural Designer at GuernseyTingle. Having grown up in Hampton, he appreciates the opportunity to contribute to projects that serve the same region that helped shape him.

Micah first became part of the GuernseyTingle team as a college intern, spending two summers with the firm while pursuing his Bachelor of Architecture. In 2024, he earned the Hampton Roads Design-Build Institute of America scholarship while interning with GuernseyTingle. He was also a Presidential Scholar at Virginia Tech, where he embraced both the academic rigor of architecture and the energy of campus life as a proud Hokie.

His architectural education also took him well beyond Blacksburg. During his fourth year, Micah studied abroad in Europe, visiting 25 cities and developing a deeper appreciation for how architecture reflects culture, history, and the rhythms of everyday life. He later continued his studies at Virginia Tech’s Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center while interning with Project 308 Design.

Outside of work, Micah enjoys staying active and feeding the competitive spirit that came naturally from growing up with four older brothers. A former baseball player through high school, he is always up for a game, whether it is pickleball, golf, cards, or something new. He also enjoys working with his hands and tackling DIY projects whenever he has the chance.
