Sesame Place Oscar’s Wacky Taxi Coaster

Project Overview

  • First new coaster at Sesame Place on Langhorne, PA since 1998
  • One of the largest attractions built in the park in its 37-year history
  • Worked closely with Sesame Workshop on theming for the entire ride experience

GuernseyTingle partnered with Sesame Place and SeaWorld Entertainment to begin creating more immersive themed environments for their future attractions.

“Oscar’s Wacky Taxi” is Sesame Place’s first wooden/steel hybrid coaster and GuernseyTingle’s second theme park attraction to feature this type of construction.  “Grouch” will be the largest new attraction in the park’s 37-year history, expanding the park’s fun-filled portfolio. Wacky Taxi will have a bright yellow taxi cab-inspired train driven by Oscar himself with his best friend Slimy along for the ride.  Guests will be invited to join Oscar for a crazy, curvy taxi ride through the streets of New York, sending riders down a dramatic 40-foot drop.  The coaster includes over 1,200 feet of track that will feature exciting twists, turns and a mid-course tunnel – all with plenty of airtime.  GuernseyTingle worked closely with Sesame Workshop and team of creative talent to develop the scenic and built environment, making this one of Sesame Place’s most immersive attractions to date.
